I had to share with you this adorable new painting from Jackie Spurrier. I think that the cow (Alessandra) is trying to give the viewer a kiss! Well that's what this cow fanatic thinks anyhow. You can purchase this original acrylic on canvas painting from the Cottage Gallery Wedmore for £850 and have cow kisses every day.

Whenever I see one of Wayne Dowden's cow paintings I smile, they are so full of character and charm! He captures the gorgeous expressions perfectly. Wayne Dowden is an artist who works and lives in Somerset England which brings to his painterly loose artworks an authentic West Country appeal. Wayne sells his work in galleries across the UK and also more recently on eBay. I highly recommend checking out his website at www.waynedowden.com

'Nosey Cow' by James Bartholomew
How wonderfully perfect is this gorgeous painting!!! I think this piece captures everything that is delightful about cow art. James Bartholomew is a master with watercolour and pastel, even if (I can hardly bring myself to say it) you were not a fan of cows you would still have to love this painting due to the breathtaking loose and painterly way that James has created it. B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L.
Not surprisingly all of the stretched canvas prints have already sold out but you can still purchase the limited edition paper print @ www.jamesbartholomew.co.uk

Iconic Parodies by Caroline Shotton
I recall being totally captivated by Caroline Shotton's wonderful cow paintings when I first viewed them through an art gallery window in Bath. That must be, gosh, around ten years ago and it was a real jolting experience to see Caroline's bold, humorous cows in a posh art gallery in picturesque Bath. I remember that a street vender was selling cheap hand painted copies on his market stall opposite the gallery - cheeky toad! Here are some of Caroline Shotton's icon parodies, enjoy!
'Moona Lisa'
'The Moo'
'Marilyn Moonroe'
'Vincent Van Moo'

Affordable Originals by Robert Joyner
Robert Joyner is a fantastic artist from Virginia USA. His loose none-linear style is super sophisticated and very different from the majority of cow artists. The tag line for his great website is 'making fine art affordable' and he certainly does, you can buy Robert's work through Ebay, Etsy or Fine Art America and if your canny you can bag an original for a bargain price. We thoroughly recommend taking a look at Robert's Ebay shop.

'Moonstruck' by Caroline Shotton
Hilarious limited print from the Queen of Cow Art Caroline Shotton! I just love Caroline's sad looking heifers I can't quite pin-point what it is about these cows that make us all go so nuts about them, they certainly aren't the most realistic cows you'll see but they are great fun. I think it is impossible to look at Caroline's paintings and not smile. You can buy this limited giclee printed box canvas 30 x 48" for £495 from www.washingtongreen.co.uk.

'Highland with red' James Bartholomew
James Bartholomew's cow paintings are so characterful and so beautifully executed. He works almost exclusively in watercolour and pastel. This charming new addition to his much coveted cow painting will set you back £2500 or you can purchase a limited addition print for £137. You can browse through James' over work at www.jamesbartholomew.co.uk. I absolutely the expression on this cows face, as if she's thinking, yeah what are you looking at. Love it!
Welcome To Cow Art Lover
Well this is the very first post on what will be an exciting new blog for all you bovine art lovers, welcome. Since childhood I have always had a love of cows, I live in Somerset UK so I am lucky enough to see them every day.
I used to collect little models of cows and also my Great Granddad would send me pictures of cows that he had drawn via the post from his home in Folkstone which I treasured. And it seems that I am in good company as cow art has exploded in the last few years, I totally understand why they have become so popular, cows have a wonderful humorous inquisitive way about them that is so easy to love and many artist of late have translated that beautifully to canvas!
So please join me in enjoying the wonderful works that artists are creating and feel free to leave your opinions on the pieces and share your favourites too.
Kind regards
Charlie
